Default Coastal Artillery Communications equipment.

Hi guys

I hope you can help me identify and hopefully repair the following item.

My 1st question: How is this device called ??

Close up of the device with the mike for the gasmask

And the label on the device.

So I'm pretty sure the gasmask microphone was inserted in the plug (fit's quite well) and the other side can be connected to a Telephone (Field Telephone FF33 perhaps ??) (question 2)

How it is connected to the phone I don't know, but a "Vermittlungsschnur" fits. (question 3)

And then the other connector... where is it connected to ??? (question 4)

Amd I need some cable to repair this connector (4 wires).. Does somebody have this type of cable or a equivalent ? (question 5)

As you can see a lot of questions, hope somebody can help

Tom

Hi Tom,

here's your device (name): http://der-fernmelder.de/geraete-der...tenartillerie/

(However, your's is an earlier model, the C37e).

You are right about the Gasmaske socket. The special connector/adaptor goes to the external socket of the KM FF33: http://der-fernmelder.de/geraete-der.../ff-33-marine/

In case of lack of such an adaptor, you could use the regular Vermittlungsschnur to connect the socket "Telefon" of the switchbox of the Sprechgarnitur to an FF33 (even not being a KM edition). The sound quality will not be the same, since this solution is omitting the Sprechspule.

Csaba

As for replacing the cables, I would use rubber cables, however the recent ones doesn't have exactly the same touch "feeling".
