Default Beretta 38/42 serial number reference

I recently received my transferable Beretta 38/42 and it has a 4 UT 44 stamp on the stock. The gun is a bring back by a US paratrooper and was picked up in France in 1944 or 45. I was wondering if the serial numbers were ever published online and the years they were made. The 4UT stamp I am told means that this gun was made for the germans by the Italians in the Beretta factory in northern Italy. tia

I don't know any serial number list for the Beretta 38/42, but a picture will help to date it.
4UT is the mark used by Italian proof house also before the Germans took control of the Beretta factory on September 1943 and was applied to many guns, not only to these delivered to Germans.
Remember also that the 38/42 was sold to the Wehrmacht before the Italian surrender and was distinguished by the writing "MP 38/42" while the Italian one had the writing "Mosch. Autom. Beretta...."
