Default Air Crew Europe

Hello friends,

I was interested in this Air Crew Europe Star. I think it looks good by the few checks I know. it seems a bit high in cost.

Can anyone help me with authenticity.

Thank you

From the photos it looks like a good original post war issued A.C.E. Star (larger unsolderd suspension ring). Be very careful with Air Crew Europe stars there are some scary copies doing the rounds that can only be identified if you have it in hand..

Yes
You can still send off for your or a relatives ww2 medals
As the old dies wore out new ones were made hence the differences including larger suspension loops

yes but large ring stars are late issue and seem to be less desirable Among collectors. ( just a guess but I think large ring issue stars are from the 1970s onwards?)

the going collectors price for a air crew star is around £200-250. i sold a good condition, original for £225 ($299) on the britishmedalforum.com

if your looking to buy one, you might get lucky on ebay or by posting a wanted advert on the estand.

the britishmedalforum.com also has a good thread on aircrew medals authentication + they do pop up for sale on their estand from time to time.
