Default Luftwaffe Overseas Cap

I have owned this Luftwaffe overseas cap for many years. Thought I would post it here. It has a lot of nap wear except the top which was sewn closed by a small thread which over the years has broken. Thanks Jackboot

It looks original to me, but with reapplied insignias.

Cap is original IMO.
Not sure of the eagle or kokarde and their sewing, pics are too small and crap. (again!)

Nice early cap. Interesting to see that the vet wanted to close the top. Have seen that more frequently with tropical caps, and I have one where a safety pin was used.

Certainly need better views of the insignia. While the aging on the cockade matches the overall cap, the application stitching looks odd. Can't tell anything about the eagle, other than it is much cleaner than the rest of the cap.

Thank you gentleman for your comments. These were not recent photos and taken for my pleasure and inventory. The insignia on this cap is hand applied but appears to me to possibly be original to the cap. The eagle lays so flat into this cap. Has been there a long time. Just my thoughts and as they say I am definitely no expert. Here are a couple of close ups. Thank you again. Jackboot

I agree with Willy about the eagle, but I've changed my mind for the cockade : now it looks originally applied.

Too new the eagle to me but the cockade looks original to the cap; can be seen the remnants of the nap surrounding it, while is missing in the remain of the garment due to use. I Agree about the customized stitching to keep the cap closed in the top, now broken
