Nice to see the entire collection of yours - very impressive!
Regarding the cut-out observers: I know it´s difficult - but could you try to make a picture of the inside seam of the cutout? Did they close it with solder or can you shove a paperstrip inside (between front and backing-plate)?

I simply had to come back and take a look once again. Superb collection!

Was it a common practise to take a military qualifying badge and make a rememberance medaillon of it?

Something you dont see in WW2 period.
