Default Walther PP / NSKK

Hello, I have purchased a Walther PP pistol and on this pistol there is a mark of a swastika and on it a sign that reads NSKK (Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps). By my research this pistol is made in the year 1938.

What's your opinion about this pistol's authenticity and is there a way to determine by the serial number to who could have owned this pistol. By my knowledge these pistols have been made in limited quantity and were made for high rank NSKK officers.
Also, how much do you think this pistol is worth?
Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

Walther PPs marked to the NSKK are very desirable collection pieces and worth several thousand dollars to US collectors in excellent collectible condition. Unfortunately, someone crudely stamped the serial number of the gun on the slide of your pistol greatly reducing the collector value, if not eliminating it altogether. In addition, in some of your photographs there appears to be severe corrosion and wear to the bluing on the slide, that also reduces any collector appeal.

I agree with both Bill and Joe.

The photos provided are not that good, but from what I can tell it looks to be a legit NSKK Walther PP. However, condition is not good, and as Joe mentioned, someone adding the serial number to the slide really hurts it IMO.

I don't often agree with restoring a gun, but this one might the rare case were I would probably say this gun is a good candidate for a restoration project. Mainly due to the fact that it's a real NSKK pistol, which is highly sought after.

Default Nskk p.p.

Compare the slide legend to a regular P.P. and you will see that all of the script including the Walther banner is smaller on the NSKK marked pistols....look closely. Typical German precision
