Default Bavarian Navy Zweispitz

Hello guys,
what do you think of this cap? Looks original to me although it made me wondering in such condition.
The photo supposedly shows the owner and the cap it self but insignia look different to me. Unless it was his second cap or something?
Any thoughts are welcomed.
Chris

Sorry the title should read: "Royal Bavarian Zweispitz"

I mixed up the threads but i can't edit the title.

I would appreciate if a mod could amend it.

Thanks.

This gentleman is some sort of official, not (at his age) part of the military. The waistcoat with tails is another sign of that. There are some books out there that cover imperial era Beamten uniforms, but unfortunately, I don't have any of them. Perhaps close-ups of the cuffs, collar and epaulettes would help someone identify the uniform.

Default eagle

The eagle in the middle of the oval "Deutsche Industrie" inside the hat certainly doesn't speak "bayerisch".

Pauke do you think it's a fake cap? The outside of the cap looks very convincing. Especially it's material, like suede leather.

Default Prussian

Definitely not a fake, the eagle is the fancy Prussian eagle giving its approval to "Deutsche Industrie".

Ohh Prussian. Ok got it. Seller said it's Bavarian.
I was thinking; due to the condition this was a back up cap. So it's possible that the one depicted in the photo was the one for daily wear hence the difference.

Default bavarian

Having no expertise in such headgear I am only commenting on little details I see. At the top of the looped belt logo the crown does look Bavarian and the exterior button with the lion likewise. So I can only assume it is a Bavarian hat and the rest of the puzzle I leave to Chip's description.
