This is excellent work Librarius. I always think that this brings the old pictures to life. You certainly have studied the colour and applied it well.

Norman

Many thanks, colleagues. Yes, it is difficult to know some details, but it is possible thanks to your general help.

It would be interesting to know how it is done, but there is obviously an art to it in order to get the exact shades that are necessary.
You sometimes see commercially produced colourisation of German photographs, and it is just so out, and unconvincing, other than perhaps to the general public; but seeing it done like this, by an enthusiast who has obviously put in the time and effort necessary to get the correct and accurate colours and hues, is just great and reassuring that what you are looking at, is how it was and what you are missing out on in many of the original B&W pictures.
What really impressed me on looking closely was the way the cap bands and collars were nailed, as I would guess, some of these values might be a little bit tricky to get spot on.
So, just a couple of things I would ask of the artist behind these lovely pictures; please keep it up and, are we soon to expect to see any Heer or perhaps frontline infantry in action??
Kind Regards
Norman
