Went back some other times in that place, not only for the relics but also for the mushrooms

However, each time I was able to find both
A lot of cartridges and splinters of course, but also some gun and equipment parts. But my goal was to find some more Fj relic...

Here are some K98 parts. Not strictly Fallschirmjaeger's but these in particular were used by them for sure (FJD4). An elevator, the bolt's lever ball and the trigger. All clearly battle damaged.

Other pieces were in better conditions, like this K98 bolt, found intact.

The bolt doesn't look very nice from the pictures, taken at the moment I found it.
But with the help of some acids and a lot of patience, I was able to improve it a bit.
I managed to take it apart, and I found the firing pin and the spring inside in nearly mint conditions.
The serial number is perfectly legible!

And here are some small uniforms and equipment parts.
Tropical tunic hook and button, a "D" ring and a neoprene FJ helmet pad!

The cherry on the cake, found this Sunday morning.

I think that these are the spring and the firing pin of a FG42/I, maybe the same one of the part I previously found.

Good idea, but unfortunately there are not much like this in the area where I dig. Prisoners were evacuated more on the rear, because in case of a counteroffensive they could be liberated by their mates.

Amazing that the bolt could still be broken down. Nice job of finding items.

Congrats on the Porcini find too.

I was going to joke you need to try mushroom hunting, if you can spot some of the 1:1 fragments.
