That right Don, I’m referring to The Feldherrnhalle where SS troops were asked to swear their loyalty to Hitler (Meine Ehre Heist Treue) and handed their SS dagger.

I believe this ceremony took place at midnight, once a year.

Please note, 2017 photo appears first, 1930-40’s next.

Oh wow - brain fart - duh! I guess I just never thought of all those words together, no matter how many times I have stood there (I thought it was someplace in Munich that I hadn't heard of!).

Thanks, Don and MASTERBLASTER!

Nice. I was there myself for the third time now only 2 months ago. So much history on that spot! Johnno.

Hey Bob, Bill and Johnno,

I had an incredible time and I was amazed just how much 3rd Reich history still remains.

Nuremberg was aweosme, As was Obersalzberg. Weather perfect for the entire 3wks

I think the SS Shooting Range at Hebertshausen and Oradour-sur-Glane were the most chilling places I visited.

As previously said Munich and Nuremberg still have plenty of third Reich history to offer.I visited both cities last April.I managed to take a guided third Reich tour in Munich and the guide was a very knowledgeable.Later in the day I took a guided trip to Dachau .Anyone with an interest must go and visit.I know I will again.

Well, they DID tear down the Third Reich memorial part of the monument, in 1945. "They" being the U.S. authorities, BTW. That memorial used to sit on the ledge, a couple meters to the right of where my brother was standing.

Yeah, that place.

Did you ride around Munich on that bike?

Many photos of Third Reich sites that can be seen today in Munich, Berchtesgaden/Obersalzberg, Nuernberg, and other areas at www.thirdreichruins.com
