Cool collection...nice detail on the Pragerburg.
Is the sword device on the KvK single a mis-strike, or has the attachment pin been soldered on back to front?

Here's the reverse ..

It appears to be a total mis-strike I guess they didn't study these things quite as much as we like to ?

Cheers, Ian.

Very nice ribbon bars indeed Ian

I find the Sudeten with the Prager bar particularly interesting: beautiful detail on the bar!

Looks like a 25mm wide ribbon bar with a 22mm Prager bar which is unusual (but perfectly OK IMO) as you usually see smaller size Prager bars on ribbon bars (13mm, 15mm etc). The 22mm Prager bar is less common than the full size version and the few I have seen so far were mounted on medal bars like the full size ones. To me, the same situation as the prinzen or full size version of EK II spanges on medal bars: sort of a "buyer's option" ...

I have attached a picture of my 22mm and 30mm medal mounted bars and 13 & 15mm ribbon bar spanges

Another variant to look for...

Cheers

JC

Many thanks JC, the presentation of your awards is fantastic

The 22mm Spange came with a cased 1st October medal with Prague Bar, as far as I know they've always been together ..

Sadly of course you've kicked off the OCD in me regarding the smaller ribbon bar Spangen

Ian

I'd love some of those political ones while you're at it. I really like that first bar Ian with the 10 and 15 years. Very nice collection so far. I only have five ribbon bars and they are starting to grow on me as an area to concentrate on collecting wise

The yellow ribbon, on the police ribbon bar, is that a Life Saving medal ribbon?

Thanks, I bought a small, high quality instant collection from Peter to go with the few I already had and have added a few since ... the KVKIIX/Afrika, DRK/Social Welfare and the EKII/KVKIIX/LS 3 & 4.

As I've almost run out of pretty things that are within my price range I thought these were the next logical step

Cheers William, the long Imperial is really the star of the show .... I just need the Imperial Long Service, Boxer Rebellion and Kaiser's Centenary medals to accompany it

Ian.

Hi Ian,

All very nice ribbon bars.

I was really intrigued by the flawed swords device on your 1939 KVK2X single-placer. Looks like there was a lot of material slippage when that piece was struck. I'm surprised they still used it.

Best regards,
Tom

Beautiful Sudeten medal set Ian and I have no doubts it came that way. I cant see the back set-up of my 22mm bar on its drapery mount but the only "loose" specimen of a 22mm bar I saw had very long wire clips (unlike the mini bar spanges which have the typical 2 short clip set up) so I'm surprised they used this bar (with its long clips) on a single 25mm ribbon bar but I also have a few odd ones myself that are period assembled (e. g. : Anschluss medal mounted on Eagle order ribbon...)

We also seem to collect these for similar reasons ($$$). Here are a few more "still affordable" ribbon bar types you can consider for your Sudenten family

Best regards

JC
