Default Then and Now: 10 June 1944...Oradour-sur-Glane/My Visit .

Hi Guys and all history buffs, just wanted to share a part of my trip last year when i visited Oradour-sur-Glane,as im sure most of you know the sad story behind the events of 10 june 1944 carried out by the SS Das Reich Division. This was one place i had to visit on my WWII historical holiday thru Europe and its battlefields, this had been 12 months in the making.Upon arriving early in the morning i wanted to be there early to take pics without any tourist around i had 1hr 30mins before they started flooding in.This site is now a memorial site to all that had lost there lives thru this peroid of war ,also the museum prior to entering village is very interesting as well, once i had entered the town/village i was absolutly blown away !! as it felt like i was back in that time of 44' you could quite easily feel what occured here on that day of 10 June 1944 it felt so real. Here are some of my pics with inset pics from that period i had sourced out. There are some black & white shots i had taken also. Also there is some interesting web sites if you want to research or find more info out. Thank Guys !!.

Thanks for these. I visited Oradour many years ago. A "must" for all WW2 memorabilia collectors.
