Halle,

Great collection! I was wondering where all the rare plates were!

Besides the Bad Tolz plate, this is the rarest:

Has anyone seen a plate of SS Junkerschule Bad Tolz?

IR 78 is a personalized plate and it is unique. A few years ago I saw it on sale, but for some reason I did not buy it.

This one must be up there in rarity. Any others known?

What does the Tolz plate look like?
Are there any books detailing period Meissen plates?

The plate of Bad Tolz was included in the price list of the manufactory. But I do not know anyone who saw her.

Is there a visual of this price list document?

Default Duwe

Most of the Meissen plates are pictured in Duwe’s superb reference book “Wer treu gedient hat.....Biblio Verlag Osnabrück 1985. Unfortunately out of print and extremely expensive if found.

The SS R7 plate pictured above does not appear in Duwe’s book nor is it listed in any of the 1937-1939 Meissen catalogs.

The Tolz plate is listed for sale in the 1938 Meissen catalog for 20.50 RM but, is not shown in Duwe’s book. A very rare and elusive plate!

Thank you for posting! Your picture is very helpful and it seems this regiment presented, as a matter of policy, Meissen departure gifts to some departing members of the regiment.

Would love to buy that plate!

Mike
