Default m34 tornister with a strange hole

Hello.

I got tornister m34 with a strange hole. The hole is reinforced with aluminium ring, and has a flap with WaA. On the another side, and rear side you can see inscriptions done with paint. Can anybody recognise what it is?

Regards
Dawid

Probably a unit level modification in order to be able to fit some sort of tool with a long handle into the bag?
