I'm pretty sure such behavior would not be appreciated at the Yasukuni Shrine. I must admit I was pretty shocked and angered. Many of the visitors were old enough to have been adults during the war.

Today seemed appropriate for a bump.

Amen. I noticed there were none on that list from PA. I knew two Pearl Harbor Survivors... Both gone now, sad to say....

Then I will post in memory of my late uncle, John LaVellle.
24th Infantry Division at Schoefield Barracks on December 7, 1941.
Fought in the Pacific, first with the 24th Division and then as a member of the 6th Ranger Battalion.
RIP Uncle Jack,

By the way I absolutely Love this piece.
What branch of the Wehrmacht was the USS Arizona in?

just kidding. I’ve always been disappointed at the lack interest American collectors & WWII buffs have in Navy items & history. Marines & airborne have lots of aficionados but the USN not many. It’s a shame because people are overlooking some great history.
