Default Anti-Partisan Badge Hardware Question

Hi all,

Have any of you seen an anti-partisan badge with hardware that matches the one attached? I did some deep diving into the archives and found one that looked similar but I'm not certain. (https://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/for...d.php?t=982834). Atm i'm thinking the hardware, and by extension the badge is bad. But I'd like to get your thoughts.

Thanks

I had a very similar "gold" one that was supposedly taken off a German POW in Italy. However, after some research and discussion with author Antonio Scapini, I concluded it was a reproduction. I have had two authentic silver ones, one round pin and one "coke bottle" pin. Both of the pins were blued. This badge was also just a touch smaller in overall size than the authentic ones. Interestingly, it had what appeared to be an Assmann "A" on the reverse behind the swastika!

Thanks for the reply ebj. The one I posted is supposed to be a bronze but like yours I'm very very doubtful of authenticity. Have you posted your authentic silvers anywhere on the forum?

Hardware seems to match this fake from the fake gallery. Credits to Norm F.

Sidenote, finally bought my association status and my god, it is so useful.

Sorry, perhaps a dumb question. What does BKA mean here? Tried googling but nothing came up. Sorry for the dumb question and thanks!

BKA = Bandenkampfabzeichen which is the actual German title for the badge (bandit fighting award if translated).

CYlek,

I checked the known fake APB's in my data base and found a match. The big give away are the deep lines along side of the hinge. Also the roughness of the medal around the hinge match. I am by far not an expert but would advise caution.

Like many nice items I have had over the years, I let both my silvers BKAs go. I thought the gold one might be good. Found out later that a bronze Spanish Cross from the same "vet" was also bad! Fortunately I have come out ahead over the years in spite of being "stuck" several times. That is how us old time collectors lived and learned. Unfortunately it still going on today. Even some of the books we heralded when they came out had bad stuff! Good luck with your collecting.

Many examples of the same type of fake as the one from the opening post can be seen here:
