Hello,
It is the first Variation of the Zeiler Bakelite Flashlight. Maybe this earlier Version could be made in the End of the 1930´s Years for Sure.

As far as I know Zeiler factory cease to exist after 1945 ( as well as Hassia ) so definately wartime made, but not sure if early or late war ( actualy hard to determine IMO if no factory list in hand ).

Wartime or pre, for sure... and early model. The second model of this torch "4640" incorporates a metal hinge in the lower part, possibly to avoid losses or falls from the top when opening or changing the battery.

I love the Bakelite pieces!!!

Zeilers in use

All the flashlights, except the one carried by the pilot, are the 4848 model, with a lower hinge. The one of the pilot is model 4640, of two pieces. The images show that both models are wartime pieces.
