I just picked up this rucksack. Does anybody know what the writing inside says ??

Sorry, don't know what is written. Tthe backpack is not Wehrmacht issue.

Might be might or not be. No stamps on it? It could be WWI, Swiss or any other thing but not WWII Wehrmacht issue.

It looks like old style German writing to me, but I can't read it exactly because even Germans my age have a difficult time reading it. On the first picture you posted, it looks like a name on the first line, most likely a town name on the second line followed by the letters SA, which should mean the state of Sachsen/Saxony. The third line is probably some type of unit id.

Try posting the photos of the script in the individual research subforum and you should be able to find someone there that can translate it.

No problem, but looking at it again the third line is probably not a unit ID, but rather an address, R....strasse (street) 40, with the Roman numeral two maybe denoting a part of the building numbered 40.

Is there absolutely no stamp on any part of that backpack? No makers nor address?
