Another pile of rubbish from the man for whatever he touches becomes gold

I have noticed with this seller that when a fine original SOE related piece is sold on EBay or auction, he follows up with his own fake version.

Is this person also possibly responsible for putting items through a well known auction house recently?

Is there no orifice that Vongold won't stuff a small compass up? I can think of one he hasn't tried yet!

He has been flooding ebay with faked helmets for a while now as well as other dubious items. Here is a great thread on warrelics about some of his helmets and other items as well as covering some of the other usual suspects.

It's a father and son team, best part is they own/run a museum in stanstead.

Same telephone number on the eBay company info and the museums contact.

" specialises in the three decades from the 1950’s up to the 1980’s and even branches out into World War II and modern day militaria. He has been used by the BBC as a consultant on the 20th century Antiques Roadshow and is often used by TV companies for his extensive knowledge"

http://www.atlanticspeakerbureau.com/alan-goldsmith/speaker

For £5k a pop, he's happy to talk about his large artefacts collection.......wonder if he mentions all the fakes he peddles or will that be an extra £5k?

Funny though, like many other forum friends, I like to talk about my collection for sod all. Hmm, I need to rethink things?

Not sure which one is the cock.

Have a Look at Bonhams catalogue for the 6th of December. A "Genuine SOE Rat" - This one is somewhat different to the "Training Version" they managed to sell last year, with provenance from your favourite people.

Wonder if it is certified F.F.E. ?

Cheers
