Default This is not soe

Noted on a well known dealers site was a single blade SOE style lock knife, marked to Taylors Eyewitness and being sold as SOE and WW2. These marked knives are not SOE and are not WW2. They were made post war and in any case Taylots was not one of the makers of the SOE lock knives a fact confirmed by records in the National Archives.

Original SOE lock knives were sterile, why people continue to buy these as SOE is beyond me.

Study and you will see why.

An original single bladed saboteurs knife is much harder to find than the tyre slasher type.

If you read my post you will note that I mention that the contract records for the SOE knives are available in the UK National Archves and Taylors did not supply them.

In fact nearly all the post war marked ones are from firms that did not have WW2 contracts.

If Lyness doesn't mind, I suggest this thread become a regular thread where we can post all the bogus and crap pieces purporting to be SOE.

I'll start with this beauty....

Someone got taken for £500.

Pathetic offering from a prolific peddler of fake SOE and Escape & Evasion items.

Do not buy from EBay seller "METALDETECTORMAN1980"

I believe this joker is manufacturing his own items and he sometimes uses green felt backdrop in his pictures.

This guy may be the same as the one above as he too often uses green felt background. Has sold a few SOE "secret message" stashes.

Next up are a few from another peddler of fake SOE/E&E items. This cowboy sells that much crap, I often miss the chance to capture images!

Do not buy anything from this seller "vongold."

Although it looks convincing at first glance, this is a deliberate attempt to deceive buyers. That's theft in my book.

This seller recently off loaded a fake pen dagger which again, looked convincing at first glance but when taking a closer look the blade was in fact a small file. The file had been ground...badly, in an attempt to smooth it down to resemble a blade. Unfortunately, pic's of the pen did not save.

Mr "vongold" has sold quite a few SOE/Escape & Evasion "dominoes" recently, all with secret stashes for messages and maps.

Here is his latest secret stash offering.

Notice the very poor and childish attempt to age the map by burning the edges? Must have been some extremely hot shaving water for that to happen. What a knobhead!

This guy is registered as a business seller.

Slightly off topic ; but just to add to the Vongold Shame he recently offered a handful of rusty metal flakes with white paint on which he claimed to be part of " Pegasus Bridge ". He really does need his wings clipped by someone.
