Default Question about frosting

Hi gentlemen, I came up with a question when I was looking at one of my EK1s: "Should all EKs go through the frosting step?" Because on my piece(a shinkel ek1 as shown in attachment), I can hardly find any trace of frosting. But on Deumer's schinkel EK2, the frosting is always nicely presented.

Thanks anyway for your reply Wim. I'm actually thinking whether frosting can be used to recognise fake EKs as many fake pieces are lack of this process.

Hi Wim : the last thread on frosting that you might be thinking about .

http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...light=Frosting

KLK --> well I still see traces of frosting on yours .
It appears that your EK2 has been cleaned/polished ..... !

And to point out that even modern fakes can be found with some kind of frosting type - be it painted on .
