Default SS flag/podium banner ?????

Hi, A friend of mine is offering this to me, I would like your oppinions please on originality and value. Just went through back and cancer surgery this year so not sure if I can afford it if its good... but will try.
It is one sided, about 3 feet tall. Front side is in good condition, backing is very rough. Thanks for any help.

For what it's worth it's worth, I can provide some provenance of the item.

At Bergstrom Air Force Base here in Austin there was a Bekin's storage facility, 4 stories tall with two basements. As an AFB, much personnel items were stored their for service members on assignment temporally elsewhere. The building burned flat to the ground and fell into the basements.

In the 80's I had an add running in the newspaper for relics at the time and was contacted by some 'gypsy types' who were living in a friends garage. They made their living by contracting to clean up fires and such and recover steel for resale. They were allowed to keep all debris in these clean-up.

The pictured flag was inside a water soaked trunk found in the basement and had several badges pinned to it. They were all genuine and all had turned 'furry' from their immersion in water used in fighting the fire. I sold them off and in the early 90's sold the flag to a noted collector.

That at least provides provenance from the 'out of the woods' point to the 'collecting world'.
