Default Dlv ?

Gentlemen request your help please.
I've had this for many years and only recently actually looked at the markings.
I have not seen school markings before. I think on one wing is the number 69.
Would you be able to tell me where the school was?
Second question..I haven't cleaned it ...should I?
Thank you for your help

It looks fine as it is, no need to clean it. It will be interesting
to see what the markings on the scabbard are about.

I agree, don't clean the dagger.

Is there a corresponding number on the underside of the crossguard? Unit marked DLVs are out there but I don't believe I have ever seen a matched set. I have an example from a technikerschule but the numbers between scabbard fitting and crossguards are mismatched.

I don't know if anyone has identified the locations of these schools, would be tremendously interesting if they do.

Thank you for your input.
Yes cross guard has matching number 702
Have tried to take a picture of the end of cross guard where K would be but my photography skills are lacking. Hoping you can see the winglike stamp and also a number which I think is 69 or 96. I will try to get better pictue in daylight. Thanks again

A beautiful matched dagger, nice and desirable with the waffenamt mark too. I believe it's a 96 with the bird.
