You should look at leather buffer on ricasso, how is added the handle to grip, on grip there is on strange place the inspector imperial proof? possible the handle is a early S98 long, its a polished only or nickeled surface?, the scabbard looks like a WKC KS98 dress piece?, any other visible marking? The grips screws looks like later period smaller S84/98 III version wout slots in heads. Could be done here a personall rework of already Extra SG. Chequered grips and polished. Frog and knot looks ok to me as for dress piece,b.r.Andy

Thanks Andy. No other markings, all nickel plated, and here are some close-ups. Came with some other items, and I am just curious if I can use it to display with a Dunkelblau uniform.

Thanks looks like dovetail blade adding, so handle could be service S98 that was equiped with a short blade of untypical design. When plating so no problem its a Extra SG, about the chequering and screws on grips could be later upgraded in Weimar era same as the sloted press button. I would tend to a Imperial period as starts of his life.b.r.Andy
