Default Luftwaffe Officer's Sword by F.& A. Helbig

Iím thinking about purchasing this sword along with two SA daggers and a LW dagger from the family of a man who purchased them at auction a few years back. I would like to get some thoughts on the authenticity of the sword and itís value. I think he overpaid for the sword and the other items he bought especially with the buyers 20% fee.

Attached are the pics from the auction site that the family sent me. Thatís all I have for now although I can get more if need be.

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

It looks good to me and appears to be one of the government purchased/issue types of Luftwaffe swords. FP

I love the gilded highlights -- looks like an elegant and original piece to me.

Cheers,

As regards value: This is not an extremely rare piece; you will find examples of similar swords on quite a few dealer's sites. I encourage you to check out those sites and see what this style of piece is going for. Very helpful information there.
