Hard to say whether it is date of the brave deed, or a day of awardment. Probably it depended on personal preferences. But imo this is not that original awarded piece. Nevertheless, nice private purchase by B. H. Mayer.

I agree with Miro. I've personally seen more often the award date engraved on the crosses.
