Default Possible 2nd Variation RSHA Walther PP?

Hi guys!

Been noticing a PP at a pawn shop for the past week. Don't have my permit for another week, but notice its been reblued with a black bottom extension mag.
(Could not see bottom). Serial is 982xxx no letter suffix. I'm thinking not a 2nd Variation? Hope you guys can confirm!

Happy Hunting!
Lev

Lev,
That sure falls right at the end of the second variation RSHA if it still has the original mag it will be serial numbered on the spine. As long as frame and slide are numbered your good to go.

Here is my 981x second variation.

Hey guys!

Sorry to bring up a dusty old topic. Took me a long while to get my pistol permits for NC, but finally went back to the shop and put the gun on a short layaway plan!

After reviewing the pistol, I don't believe it is a 2nd Variation, but decided to check with everyone one more time. It is reblued or, more or less, black cerakoted right over the old bluing which had some minor pits, some noticeably on the tight side of the slide where the serial number would have been if it was there. Still overall, all markings are untouched and present and internally, the pistol is perfect. But there is a catch...

The pistol comes with a 5th Variation RSHA black finger extension magazine (202xxxP, numbered 2).

So thinking possibly just an early PP that happened to have a common magazine switch after the war?

Pictures will be on the way as soon as I pick her up!
