Default Nice bronze recon clasps

Just got this one in the mail today from member Chris G.

First recon I own and don't think I will find a better one at the MAX for what I paid.

No maker name but I do see an O to the reverse lower neck area of the eagle.

Any and all comments welcomed

Wow.

So if many call this post war what do the test of the collecting community call it?

Then post war meaning a fake or it that to strong a word to use.

Well itís an S&L clasp and we canít say for sure if they are wartime. They were most likely around at the end of the war based on the postwar souvenirs boards so they were most likely produced late in the war but werenít awarded by the end. The reverse hardware setup on yours is considered wartime compatible so another good sign for yours. So itís either late war or early postwar production by S&L.

Tom

PS, very nice example with great finish.

Like Tom said, it could be late war. Another forum member has an attributed piece with the same mark.
