Default Wwii bancroft flighter-estate sale find

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share with you my incredible estate sale find from last weekend. I visited a local sale on its second day and there was only about 2 other people walking around the sale. To my surprize, one of the closets had two WWII army trunks filled with Air Corps officer uniforms, an A-4 flight suit, officer garrison hats, etc. Also, inside was a stellar Bancroft Flighter. The trunk was named to Lt. Lawrence H. Holley, 9th Air Force.I had been looking for a good Flighter since I was a kid. Needless to say I was in shock at the condition and I coud feel the adrenaline rushing through my hands. My wife told me to go down and ask how much they wanted and I told her, "No! you go ask because they'll figure you don't know what the hell your talking about!" I stood there setting aside the trunks and when she came back she said, "The lady said $300." My reaction was slight dissapointment as I wanted to buy everything. Then she abruptly said, "Just kidding! The lady said $30.00!" I sprang back up, "What?!!, Go ask how much for everything in the trunks!" My wife came back and said that lady wanted $240.00 for everything. Needless to say, I went for it all!

Wonderful acquisition.

When convenient, would you mind showing the rest of the items?

Thanks,

Mike

Here’s a pic of the group from the sale. The A-4 flight suit is in pretty damn good condition as well.

Thanks guys,

I’m trying to find more info on him. So far, I’ve only been able to find his enlistment record. I have some homework to do.

Very nice score! I was afraid you were going to say you only bought the cap. Glad to hear you picked up the whole group.
