Default M1 helmet McCord, flea market pickup

Gi guys !!

this one is not rare or anything - but hence its a really nice shape and first hand pickup from a flea market here in Tahoe, I really had the urge to share it ! . Good times of $10 helmets on market are gone.. so I actually had to pay a bill for this one

Lot is 884F so I guess May of 1944 ? liner has 1945 stamps on sweatband and nape. hope you guys like it, it will be a good match for my fall 1944 made mint Schlueter

How often do you see one so clean? Yes, it's rare. Well done.

Hello B. ! I believe S is a manufacturers code, rivet of the chinstrap is UNITED CARR. I remember seeing explanation of these ink stamps in Pieter Oosterman's book (which I dont have ), but I dont exactly remember what manufacturer S stood for

Seems like a great deal for such a perfect example.

That’s a very nice, well taken care of helmet! I haven’t seen many that clean. Nice pick up!
