He absolved an air gunner training, to take part on flight missions, he later reportet.

Nice large grouping for a Kriegsberichter with the little extras. Thanks for showing.

Default Kriegsberichter Grouping

Hi

Thanks for sharing ,this is a fantastic Kriegsberichter grouping with some excellent photos of Wenzel himself and of his work.
If you ever decide to part with any photos I would be very interested.

Thanks

Andy

Great and scarce PK-Berichter group.Looks like he was a member of Gerhard Baeker's crew at one time. And is that an autographed photo of the general?

Very nice, enjoyed going through the thread. I found the close up shot of the Brit para prisoners interesting as the first fella seams to be wearing lanyards under each arm, not sure why that would be

Very nice grouping, congratulations!

As a side note, it also illustrates his career progression:

The first documents and photographs (up to April 1941) show him to be an Unteroffizier der Reserve.

After May 1941, he is a Sonderführer (Z) (i.e. equivalent to Leutnant). (Many war correspondents were appointed as Sonderführer for their civilian skills and qualifications as reporters, writers, photographers etc.)

The studio portrait and the 1942 Marschbefehl show that he was soon taken over as a Leutnant der Reserve. (Sonderführer were never intended to be a permanent institution and personnel of this status were expected to undergo further training until they were qualified to be appointed as regular reserve NCOs or officers.)
