Default R75

Hi,

A lot of people would have litte interest in this R75 as it is a "bitsa", the notes accompanying the photos states it made up of parts from 18 different bikes, so what is it really ? are all the 18 bikes from the same period of production ? very unlikely,
Over the three years these bikes were produced there were many many changes in design, materials used, layout and a myrad of tiny detail changes.

Not really worth anything to a many collectors, and why do they always have MGs fitted, most did not.

cheers lennard

That collection has been for sale for some time already...I recall seen it advertised somewhere a couple of years ago. Looks impressive but too overloaded. It would be a matter of seeing each individual object, adding the total and deducting a discount for a lot price. Not for me, anyhow.

PS. Two MG34s on one same bike???

I gather he thinks adding the photo with Jay Leno increases its value....by say $480k.

BTW, the saddle drum mag is for an MG15...not an MG34. 1000€ less

Hi,

Am probably pointing out the obvious, but the AT guns is a French 2,5cm item, of no great interest to most people (apologies to French subscribers), a couple of hundred dollars at the most.

Yes, was all advertised a few years ago as mentioned above, all very strange,

It needs another MG; 3 is just not enough....

"This is an offering of one of the largest U.S. collections of original World War II German Wehrmacht Afrikakorps field equipment in private hands."

What a joke. He doesn't even know the difference between DAK camo and ordnance tan.

It seems there's more then just the bike and trailers for sale...

"The remainder of the collection of field equipment, radios, uniforms, and optics fills 25 pages of the catalog with descriptions and photographs. Even those pages do not include every item."

....well I have to pass on it, I come up short by a few dollars.

Still.... even with the Optics and other items... He's nowhere near even 100000

the seller informed me that the entire collection was appraised at that amount... Because Brad Pitt spent 300000 euro on a bike... they use that figure as a reference.

Take a look on Milweb, there a currently a couple of Zundapps and it regularly has BMW's for prices.

Personally I think the BMW R12's are far better bikes and better value for money (easier to run and maintain).

Yup Carles is right,

Saddle drum top cover for the MG34 will take the MG15 Mag AND the PT34 Mag, only the PT34 Mag will operate correctly with the MG34 (and even then it needs tuning to the weapon)

Looking at the pic I reckon the mag in question is actually just plonked on top of a standard top cover as the release lever should be right down on the hinge pin almost.

Mg 34 looks sweet tho
