Good to hear that this was (most possible) a fake news - but it was spread on several plattforms within GErmany that the "the owner of the Tiger" passed away.

The legal thing is for sure a problem - for collectors of all kinds of weapon, no matter if life or deactivated....

When I visited Kevins place there were several places where he had King Tiger parts in storage.
Seen it with my own eyes.
That of course is only again of grain of sand to what he has.
And all was great.
There were 2 Panthers side by side in the shop each had the turrets removed but both being worked in like Factory new condition.
The left one was far more advanced than the right hand side one if I recall correctly.
The left one was almost ready to turn key.
This was 2 years ago.
Great to hear its coming near drive time.

He currently owns 4 Tigers and 4 Panthers. He is just fitting the engine to his complete Panther to check the plumbing

That would be quite the parade coming over the hill

Looking at the Shaddocks website surviving panzers I see quite a few panthers in the USA just sitting in grey primer paint looking rather furlorn these really need to be farmed out to restoration groups who would love a panther project even if it was just cosmetic,at least they could go on display instead of being hidden away

Cheers for all the up dates guys,it was worth the bump

mmmmm...he told me he has only 3 Panthers (the other 2 are in incomplete states)...and only has 2 Tigers that he is collecting parts for.

There are 1 or 2 other Tigers being built alongside his, however...not owned by him though.

This is what he has for Panther:

#1 - 95% restored Panther.
#2 - Panther hull with complete front armour plate missing
#3 - Panther hull and turret with red/white/Blue stripes painted on front of hull
#4 - 25% Panther hull section (left rear quarter section) - stripped and empty

It appears he is counting the 25% empty quarter section as Panther #4.

This is what he has for Tiger:

#1 - Tiger Project under restoration
#2 - Tiger Project under restoration
#3 - King Tiger Project under restoration.

I do not know about a 4th...unless there is another variant he has...or if he has another large hull section that he is counting as #4 (like above).

I know for sure he is only building two. Maybe he has large hull sections he is considering as another...?

The first "Panther Project" book starts with some pages on the collection with the sad story a bout a Ferdinand hull (?) sitting in an eastern "farm-yard" vor over 60 years beeing cut to pieces only some weeks before KW arrived at this location. One picture showas parts of the running gear of such a vehicle, maybe he saved the cut pieces counting these as Tiger #4 ...
