Hi Dragnet

Thanks for showing that. Now that I've seen the page, I am sure that the identification is wrong. I'm pretty sure those helmets are all Wehrregiment München.

Here's the armbadge for Wehrregiment München.

bolets58 - is it known which regiments/battalions/brigades made up Wehrreginment Munchen? I'd imagine they were absorbed into the Reichswehr. I took a quick look at Georg Tessin's Order of Battle but came up empty... I'll need to take a closer look in the evening.

Thanks for sharing the helmet!

I think this is the correct evolution...

Remnants of Königlich Bayerisches 10. Infanterie-Regiment „König Ludwig“ formed Sicherheits-Kompanie „Bergen“ in March 1919, which then became 12th Company, Wehrregiment München on May 25, 1919. I don't know who formed the other companies, yet. I need to do some digging.

Together with Sicherheits-Kompanien „Besch“, „Schneider“ and „Schreyer and Volkswehr-Kompanie Stahl, Wehrregiment München became III. Battalion, Reichswehr Infantry Regiment 48. in June 1919.

I also think that the two helmets with shields shown on the top and bottom of the pages were likely not Freikorps, but at the very least vorläufiges Reichswehr (Provisional Army), worn between June 30 and September 30, 2019 and probably also worn beyond that by Übergangsheer (Transitional Army) until the final formation of the Reichswehr in January, 1921.

Thanks for the adding the Wehrregiment Munchen order battle Brian!

I agree with your painted shield assessment as well, Reichswehr instead of Friekorps. I wonder where the author was getting his information from....
