G'day gents, just thought I'd dig out a few of the kits that I built when I was a kid and post an image of them. The 251/6 started out as the motorized Nitto 251/1. An Airfix 250/3 Grief kit that had some warped and missing pieces was just sitting around collecting dust, so I decided to try a kit bash to convert the 251/1 into a 251/6. The original rubber band tracks on the Nitto kit were replaced with a set from a Tamiya 251 kit. With 40 odd years of hindsight, I realize that the finished pieces aren't quite up to today's standards. Especially with the Waffen SS sitting in the rear seat of the G4 smoking a cigarette. LOL
Regards
Bern

Thanks Ian. I had a soft spot for the diminutive Panzer also. So much so, that I once had 4-5 of the Tamiya Pz. II kits, which I put together in various configurations. I had one kit remaining and my son took it to junior high to build for a class project. So, that's a bit of a neat family connection. Now if I can only get him interested in building some of the 150 or so kits that I've collected over the years. He's 28 now and more interested in the fairer sex, so I highly doubt it. LOL

Default Looking Good

Personally I think The new builders dont have a grip on what the model is supposed to look like....They chip and Rust almost everything and they dont understand that these vehicles, although used and abused Had to be kept up to standards. I think your pieces look great.

I have a Tamiya Panzer IV that I did when I was about 13 or 14. I am 51 now, and still have it displayed. I think it is on it's third or fourth camouflage job.
