Nice set and very desirable.. I haven't seen a set sell recently but, Id say these would be in the 3-4k usd range maybe higher on a good day.

Hope this helps... the Version with the Eagle/M do bring a premium over the late types that don't.

Does the number produced mean anything?.
Some subs had them, others not. And all those on sunken subs are no longer available anyway.
One UDF dived up around 1990 was still in working order though. So, I guess some ocean bottom mining could yield results.
But you need to move fast. The subs are disintegrating. One north of Helsingør can be seen on Youtube. And it allready looks like a carcass, open ribs sticking up from the seabottom. Steelplates allready gone. ( I don´t know if a UDF is present. Quite a job to dig that out of a pile of rust 6 meter down.)

The UDF can be found, on ebay, and on other auctions.
Quite a few in England btw, as they were sold as surplus there in the 1950-ies. From old german stocks taken over by the british after 1945.

Dr. Seeger has covered the numbers in his books. (more or less)

As for a value today, I doubt the numbers produced means very much.

Zeissasembi. It just might be the one I mentioned. I have a reason to believe so.
Lots of other nice optics from that seller.

Default UDF Binoculars

Hello
I have owned 2 different UDFs in the past, I sold one on ebay approx. 10 years ago for approx$4700 (macsmilitary) and recently sold one ($3000) at the MAXX show, I blieve yours is worth at least $4500, please let me know any history with it.
Thanks
Christos from Boston
