Default M42 NS66 Luftwaffe with austrian chinstrap

Straight out of the woodwork. Interesting to see an austrian chinstrap-first one for me (special thanks to Heiko for the identification).

A nice Luftwaffe helmet and a nice Austrian chinstrap !
I have to say that the chinstrap is a post war addition.

The chinstrap on this helmet is a typical example of an Austrian Gendarmerie chinstrap . Used from the early post war years until the early sixties.

Have a look here :

Best regards
