Hi all...

I am (was) an collector in the Past.
I am still an adict, but have never used any kind of these "drugs" for several years.....

First Doug, i Still consider you as an friend, but as time goes, friends are lost......

New tech will for those that have cash, prove them rigth.
And over time, the oposit...

Nope, i am not dissagreing with your conclution, congratulations, you spoke your mind, when you dissagre, you search for the thruth, and did find it....

Guess what?
Like Titanic, you are just on the top on the ice.....
But it got sunk...

An old friend told me in the beginning of my collecting haunt:
Helmets!!!
Those are just the same!
4 different modells, only different between them are the "stamps" on them, like on a letter.....

So if we cant se the difference on a real decal, what does it says on the rest of the SS comunity?

Daggers, Swords, dont take me to the uniformes......

Btw:

Some of us have always taken a COA hounetsly, as an friend, as an collector.

With respect.

Having seen enough problems with a number of supposed “SS” and other items where I have more of an interest - I’m not a specialist helmet collector, or a member of a helmet forum, and “don’t have a dog in this fight”. Which doesn’t mean that I’m not interested having spent some time in trying to follow the arguments where I can find them including the physical evidence. With nothing to really add to the discussion until I saw this comment:

…………………….“In this case, XRFacts "authenticated" airbrush spray painted on "decals" as being "identical" to known original SS decals except for having "3% copper" which was advanced as a reason for the "Champagne color”....................

Which if true - is something that I found really, really, interesting because in 1935 copper became one of the period documented restricted materials (very critical for the military buildup and later war effort). With as an example German manufacturers in Solingen being forced to change from the prewar copper based metals they used in their production to substitutes as their supplies of the copper based metals were exhausted. With the same net result for brass (copper based) ammunition cartridge cases being switched to steel etc. etc.

So in the middle of a shooting war the SS got a “special dispensation” from the OKW, or maybe it was Heinrich Himmler himself for a special type of copper based “Champagne color” paint/decal??? Make of it what you will, but it seems to me to be another “smoking gun”. But then I’m not a helmet specialist - so maybe that little piece of period information could be passed on to those more interested folk upstream who are conducting the search for evidence. With some of it like the 3% copper having been provided by none other than ‘XRFacts’ to determine what is a fake - but perhaps not in the way it was intended. FP

Shame about this. But the research will be published in Ken N's next book apparently.

What is this guy getting at? I bought a relic Norway division helmet that was approved by Doug by photos, not in hand.
