I still need to get the police sports insignia yet but there are about 5 different versions. I do have a small one like yours. My small one glows but there are many faded stains in it that leads me to believe that some one washed it. In case you don't know washing an item with modern detergents will give it a glow from the brighteners in it. Also during that time there where brighteners used to keep whites white. This is why you need to also do burn tests not just glow tests. I also use a magnify glass to make sure there are twists in the threads.

SA sport roundel for group "Warthe" color Blue.
All of these in this style that I have seen in person has the RZM tag sown on to it in the same location or you can see that one was at one time there. I have seen others on web sites that are just stuck on and not sown on in different locations. I question whether or not the RZM on those are the original to that item. They may be ones that some one has put to it at a later time. This is just my observation and opinion and it may be wrong.

Default Insignia

That book is a great and outstanding book that is very well laid out and absolutely full of information as well as period pics showing most insignia in wear that is displayed. Rob is a great top shelf guy as well. I have items used in his 2 volume book. He was a pleasure to deal with and this new publication is worth every single penny!!

Thats my 2 cents worth

Cheers,

hdmarley

I think it is the insignia for the pendent not the sports shirt. If you look at the pendants out there the eagle is facing right and has the black white and red. I noticed that in most if not all cases an eagle or symbol has some thing different about it for each application, weather it be for a flag, pendent, sport shirt, or Brest insignia. I am not aware of any that are used for multiple purposes. But I can be wrong.

post 14:
ever heard of the descision from Hitler about the stand for the eagles head?
Due to this decision differences were made between state and political organizations in 1937: Stellung des Adlerkopfes für Staat und Partei (state looking to its right wing; political looking to its left wing).

From that moment on for various organizations there came a new eagle, so for example for the DDAC and even for the Deutsche Lufthansa (it's membership pin and badges for archivements).
