i'm not familiar with this type of Belgian shield but it resembles one of the shields in the link for materials and construction.
Id say that is a promising sign i hope you get some good news on it.

It has the typical belgian stitching, white and black threads, commonly encountered on period local made insignia (Rex, NSKK, Flemish Lions, etc.). There's no oddity for me.

I also like this locally made Flemish shield and the Wallonie shield is a nice used one.
