Default Polizei M43 for Review

I’m always interested in acquiring new police items. This field cap caught my eye but it looks “off” to me. I can’t place my finger on it but I get an overall feeling something isn’t right. The eagle looks fine and liner looks good but the cut and overall color makes me wonder. Can I get some feedback? I am very interested in discussing this with more experienced members. It can be viewed in its entirety on the estand under cloth headgear. Thank you.

After looking at it for a while what looks interesting to me is the overseas cap style eagle and embroidered cockade as well as the overall “fit and finish.” End of war? Another variation of one of the many makers contracted to supply the Police? Or private purchase? I’d love to hear the thoughts from a more experienced collector. Thank you.

There’s nothing wrong with this cap to be seen.
The darker, more bluish shade is absolutely normale as is the rosette & eagle combo which predates the introduction of the one-piece hexagonal insignia.

Marco,

Thank you for putting it into perspective as far as a timeline is concerned.

Thank you Lenny for your comments, they are appreciated. I negotiated a price and have paid for it. Now I’m waiting. When I get it in hand I will post better pics and perhaps you can take a second look at it. Thank you.

This appears to me as an EM/NCO grade bergmutze that has been upgraded to Officer (hopefully though original promotion).
