The idler wheel shaft, it still needs welding in to the back plate but it might get damaged, so I am leaving that at present.

As with the original, the idler wheel shaft is offset in it's back plate, so to tighten the track you rotate the idler wheel assembly towards the rear of the vehicle. To do this, you first remove the two bolts and lift the dowel plate, rotate the idler wheel assembly rearwards and then replace the dowel plate. The back plate has holes drilled around it's circumference into which the dowel plate locates, therefore locking the assembly in place.

The early Panzer ll had a problem with cracking around the idler wheel housing flange that protrudes from the rear of the chassis. To stop this happening they added a bar across the chassis between the two flanges.

Suspension springs.
The number of leaves in each spring differs depending on where the spring is on the chassis, some have 11 leaves others have 15. I decided to converted standard road springs to suit this application.
