As for value of such a shell, I just can't give a good guess.

Thanks Willi,
yeah this is one of those that you wish could talk, and tell you what the heck happend and when. It looks like it may have been camoed, at some point, but there is also some odd specks of paint, and then the corrosion, hard call. I just thout it would make a neat shelf-sitter, but I want to make the guy a fair offer.
I'm just not sure what would be "fair"....

Default Another FJ on Ebay

I think this is the place to list Ebay helmets for discussion.
What is everyone's opinion of this one..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6548554611

The seller states it is a ET68 , but the liner indicates size 66.
He says that it is 100% original and that's the way it was sent home.
I have not seen a decal picture yet. I like the shell shape, paint looks original , straps look good.
I like the look of the liner too. I do not like the appearance of the rubber pads
nor the stamping on the liner.
What do the experts think here. If i get a picture of the decal, I will post it.
Hope everyone has a GREAT week.

Bill, from the photos it looks ok. Would like to see the decal and close up of the bolts. The liner is fine.

Question Opinions on recent FJ shell acquisition

I recently got this helmet knowing very little other than what I have been reading here. I would like opinions please. Can you tell me how to insert an image on this forum? Doug

It sure is a dud, and from Finland. Interesting....

As for that other ebay helmet, I am sure it will bring more than the $2600. Whether we all agree, a clean single decal spanner bolt heltmet easily brings more than the current bid.

Default Another fake! And so obvious ATF...

Hi all

Check this out! An abused ATF helmet! Well if it's cheap at least the shell can be reused. With a new liner and some sandblasting and paint it might turn into a nice re-enactor piece

cheers

OK,
Here is a specimen to review please. The shell looks OK, or?
What really concerns me are the liner, straps, buckle and bolts? It might really be an "upgraded" M38 with a new liner and straps but I need expert opinions here (I have definite doubts about the details but then again I'm no expert...). It is ebay item 6550327128.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

I have pictures of a SD para helmet from the same seller which definetely looks repro (will post these later on). This is why I am in doubt about this particular helmet. Please give me your opinions on the below helmet.

Six pictures following. I've written some comments and questions concerning details with the pictures.
I'm sorry but these were the best pictures I received from the seller:

How about the bolts? Don't they look too flat and "off colour"?
