Beautiful work. Just on question, how do you do the rigging? Mine is always a disaster? J

The rigging you see at the moment is part of the photoetch.
Later on I use very thin thread which I rub with wax to make it stiff. Also very thin rubber thread works well (EZ-Line) because you can stretch it and it looks great. For very thin lines I use metal thread 0.054 mm from Modelkasten.
The problem is not the material, it is the glueing. Basically one needs three hands: one to hold the line, one for the super glue, and one for the zip-kicker!

Thanx for the advice Dietrich. My wife has some "tiger tail" metal thread which is very thin and should work.

I just completed the Dragon Scharnhorst (1941) as a christmas present to myself. My problem is my total lack of patience, therefor my efforts are no better than OK. My son did the Tamiya King Tger as a Christmas present to me. That is really nice. J

I was very proud when Dragon used "my" Scharnhorst as a sample of their kit. It is a very nice model by Dragon.
I just wish that Trumpeter would offer a 1/200 model of that ship! Or at least the Prinz Eugen.
(But I have still the 1/200 USS Hornet in my stash ...)

Just a short update. Next are all the boats and then the rails, stairs, and davids. Hope to be done by late autumn. And weathering, of course.
The LEDs cost me a lot of time!

Superb, as already mentioned by others. It works very inspiring, unfortunately my modelling skills are nowhere near yours. Looking forward to see the progress and final result. And don't be shy on plenty of detailed pics, the more the better I'd say

The Hood was a beautiful ship but by all accounts a very "wet" ship. Even the slightest swell would cause the decks to be awash.
I've always been fascinated by her last minutes. Can you imagine how devastating the explosion was? It beggars belief!
I was considering buying this kit to turn it into an RC model as I did with the Bismarck but it's so time consuming and no one wants to pay for all that work when you want to sell and move on to the next project.
I think my Bismarck only fetched £150 on ebay and it had rotating turrets and everything.
