Default Early Freikorps von Epp Sleeve Badge

While this is one of the more common Freikorps insignia, it is difficult to find an early one complete with a proper and authentic period cloth diamond.

The shield is the first type with the year "1919" and designers name "H. Schwegerle" impressed in small letters around the lower rim. (Hans Schwegerle was a Bavarian medal and coin designer).

I have been looking for an early one from the period when the Freikorps von Epp was first formed and in action and am quite pleased to have finally found one of this quality.
