Romainian medal for review
Hi,
I've had this Romanian "Crusade against Communism" medal for a few years. Does anyone know if they are particularly rare or quite common?

Hi Paul,
These are common enough. You have a nice original there.
Kind regards
Pierce

They are fairly common... In my opinion they are a really nice medal, ribbon and the fact its a well known Romanian award is really neat..
Thank you,
Scott

Thanks
Many thanks for the feedback. Hi Rommel, I did come across a picture of the ribbon set-up you refer to. As you say unique to Romanian WW2 medals. I've attached a pic from this link:-

Interesting comment on that link that after the Soviets arrived in 1944 possesssion of this medal would be quite hazardous which makes it surprising that they aren't rare!

Thousends of them were given to German soldiers. That's one reason why they are not rare.

Hi Paul,
I agree w/ Peter..
On another note I don't understand this in the link you included.
"The clasping method used to secure the ribbon is unique to Romania. I have only ever seen this method on WWII era Romanian medals. The design would make replacing or cleaning of the medal much easier than most methods of attachment."
I don't understand how this clasp would make it easier than any other normal ribbon we see on a ring?
just an observation..
Thank you,
Scott

Just add my pennysworth, I believe there is also a version without the 'P.Grant' beneath Mother Rumania's profile. I think these were meant to have been German produced versions.
