Default Boots - Wehrmacht?

Hello all,

I picked these up from ebay.de last week and wanted your opinions? They were only 22€ so no great loss if not Wehrmacht.

I like the shape of the boot, the layered heels and the stitching. Obviously they've been re-soled but I don't like re-inforcement strap running up the back of the boot

Any suggestions/opinions would be appreciated

Cheers

IMO early postwar boots . Not the real WH shape and style ...
A combination of WH EM and OFF boots cut you can find on Firemen boots postwar .

Boots like these, with typical German construction, but at least some Soviet features (most obviously the strap covering the back seam, with its triangular reinforcement stitching at the top), were most likely made in eastern Germany shortly after the war. Whether any particular pair were made for a member of the Soviet occupation force or local German use is anybody's guess.

There were a number of this type of boots in far better condition (with legible VEB maker stamps, thus making their origin unambiguous) posted in the DDR sub-forum some years back, for instance in this well-illustrated thread: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...light=footwear These boots may not be 100% identical to yours, but there are enough commonalities here for you to use as a basis to draw your own conclusions.

The pullers to put them on look like made of leather, typical for firepolice boots. They show a round hole.
