Default Mint Kriegsmarine Gm38 set U-boat Venedig

Perfect conditioned set straight out of the attic with Feldpost reference to Venedig-Uboot Abnahmekommando IV. An interesting aspect is the rubber closure of the Filter (typical for KM) and the early Hautentgiftungssalbe.

Hi

Very nice and minty gasmask, but the number has nothing to do with FP number imho.

FP numbers usually were on the (paper) label on the spare lenses compartment.

The numbers on the snout / can were to identify the masks and cans to a certain owner .....

Just my humble opinion

I have to agree that it is not textbook to write the Feldpostnumber on the snout of the mask. BUT it exists: here is an example from a Fallschirmjaeger Reg.6 member who took Service in normandy out of my collection. And in this case here we have a M in before the number and thats typical for KM masks. But in the end its speculation

The rubber seal is TYPICAL for pre FE 41 filters ( Typical for FE 37 TP filters - designated for use, first and the most, in HOT climate - you can say/write as desinated for DAK use ).
Never seen this designation in any FE 41 or FE 42 filters.

You are absolutely right.
Its uncommon to combine a 37 Tropen Filter and a 37 dated Losantin with a 43 dated can and mask. But this guy was a noncombattant who started his Work 1943 in Venedig=Mediterrain area and should be prepared for it. Its a 100% attic find and havent been in collectors hands before.
