Default Possible truppenfahrad dynamo

I found this dynamo in my parts box for my bicycle collection.
Looks like original einheitsfarben yellow and the dynamo is marked record d.r.p.
Would this be a dynamo fitted to a truppenfahrad?

best regards Sven

Not necessarily a truppenfahrrad but it could likely be used with a Nirona light on a truppenfahrrad.

Funnily enough I bought a dynamo yesterday for the same purpose. It was in an antique shop, and it was a Bosch Rotodyn dynamo. Marked with DRP and OEL (for oil) on the side. Germany was a huge manufacturer of bike-parts and from the late 1800s to after the war there was a lot of export to smaller manufacturers that put together bikes with german parts. So the fact that your dynamo has einheitsfarbe is a good sign that it might be from an actual truppenfahrrad.

Thanks, I will put the dynamo with my German WWII collection

I also collect Dutch bikes from the 20's till the 50's and Germany was indeed a big supplier for bike parts, the famous Torpedo hub is present in almost 75% of my bikes.
The funny thing is that I see a lot of German WWII stuff in 1945-1950 bicycles. I came across two 50's transportation bikes with original Pallas racks fitted to the back. This dynamo also came with a lot of parts and a 1953 transportation bicycle, so they just used everything up after the war.

I will keep the part for my future search and connection of the two hobbies, an original TruFa.

best regards Sven
