Default D J with variation sig rune

The DJ's have not appeared on the Forum for a while.

Attached is an early nickle plated brass DJ, with one of the numerous variations of sig rune.

No markings, although note the stub end claws.

Regards,

David

Chad

I actually think that this design is better and more striking than the "standard" sig rune buckle. I too have exactly the same design with a black enamel paint sig rune, although I know that the buckle exists with a plain nickle rune and also, the possibility of a red enamel paint sig rune.

Regards,

David

Thankyou Chad for posting the DJ's.

The black sig rune buckle is undoubtedly quite striking, however this as you know is a family of buckles with numerous and "early period" variations.

Attached is another quite theatrical and overt DJ, together with a brace of the "little fellows".

Regards,

David

Default DJ variant

Hello,
I have a small version stamped DJ buckle with acute (not "a cute"!) rune that is all brass with no trace of nickel plating at all on front or back. Any special meaning attached to this version?
Does anyone have an example of the early DJ buckle with the rune super-imposed on a swastika flanked by the letters "D" and "J"? I had one with a silver washed brass roundel marked O&C ges. gesch on the back. I have another with a brass roundel with traces of black on it. Unfortunately no digicam.
Regards,
Kevin
